Yehudit Sasportas / Cosmic Rifts

Sep 11 – Oct 24, 2009

G A H R D Y is a new body of video/drawings from which two works will be shown: Local voices (6 min), a group portrait comprised of part images of swamps and landscapes, light bubbles and underground holes. These create a suggestive narrative while looking through a panoramic view between vertical and horizontal axis. Magnetic Hearts (6 min) is based on a complex drawing process Sasportas developed in her Berlin studio which relates to a series of drawing models.
In addition the exhibition will feature a series of action and flow motion drawings created in parallel to the work on Magnetic Hearts while using drawing models that include a rotating magnetic table with integrated sound, still life drawings, images of nature- virtual and real- as recorded through memory, mapping, improvisation and motion.
